In 1910 a screw factory was founded in Saalfeld/Saale by Ernst Zehner. He and his successors produced different screws until 1990. All steps and changes in the production process during the last century are visible.
In 1994 the association "Industriearchäologie Thüringen e.V." discovered the factory and began with the conservation. At present it is opened to public on a few weekends.
Now I'm writing a concept on how this factory can be opened to a broader public as a museum. I focus on the technical, economical and social aspects of a small factory in the last century.
More information on current opening hours can be found on www.saalfeld.de
